Reiki

Holding Hands

Reiki is a natural, energy healing system discovered and developed by Dr Mikau Usui in Japan during the 1920s. The word 'Reiki' is made up of two components - the word 'Rei', meaning sacred, soul or spirit, and the word 'Ki', meaning vital life force - the 'Chi' energy that flows through all living things.

Scientists have confirmed that everything in the universe is made up of energy. The energy spectrum ranges from the most dense - physical matter - to the least dense, a higher vibrational level of consciousness, or that which we might call 'spiritual' energy. Reiki is a form of energy healing which can benefit the recipient physically by working at a frequency which is more spiritual.  It is based on the precept that "The universe exists in me, and I exist in the Universe". By channeling the natural healing energy of the universe, a Reiki practitioner connects this abundant source to the recipient, flowing it through their body which has its own natural will and ability to heal itself in any case. When we catch a virus or are fighting off an infection, the body unconsciously does its best to protect and heal itself by sending anti-bodies to fight or by scabbing over a wound. However, when we suffer emotional traumas, stress or prolonged grief, anxiety or depression, the body can hold on to these emotions, causing blockages of stagnant energy around the body, which can not only affect us physically and emotionally but does no favours for our overall wellbeing.

Reiki is not a cure for diseases and certainly should not be seen as an alternative to medicine, but it can greatly help in clearing blockages, deeply relaxing the receiver and replacing any negative or 'stuck' emotions with a flow of warmth, love and abundance, greatly enhancing the recipient's sense of overall wellbeing.

Clients have come to me for relief from anger, past traumas, stress, anxiety, tooth ache, bereavement and long-term pain management.

It is possible to conduct effective healing sessions at a distance as well as in person, either via Skype or at a pre-arranged time and space.
